I had a facelift that included an upper and lower blepharoplasty with laser resurfacing around the eyes. On follow up, I would mention having pain in my left ear and within six months, developed a large bulge in my right cheek. Two years later, a burning pain overcame the left side my face and ear which was textbook of neuroma formation due to nicking of the auricular nerve. I had this removed and have yet to receive any relief despite numerous procedures. My pain is managed by The Mayo Pain Clinic. The large bulge is still unsightly and remains there after 2 1/2 years. This is not the office to go to for facial plastic surgery. I take responsibility for going to Dr. Guyette just on a physician's strong suggestion - I should have looked at credentialing of physician, staff, and a laughable "OR" in the avondale office. The technicians are not nurses, an anesthesiologist is not used. These are all consistent. with money saving practices.
At the onset of the pain, work-up consisted of an MRI of my head as Dr. Guyette said he had never heard of auricular nerve damage. The MRI tech failed to give me hearing protection or the panic bulb so I am left with hearing loss and horrendous tinnitus.
This was a life changing situation. It would behoove you to search elsewhere for facial plastics.... with a board certified aesthetic facial plastic surgeon and an accredited office.
