Profile of Paul Proffer, Dr

After residency, Dr. Paul Proffer joined the South Texas Eye Associates in Corpus Christi, where he worked for two years. While in San Antonio, Paul joined Braverman-Terry Eye Associates in the Alamo Heights / Monte Vista area near downtown. He built a large ophthalmology practice quickly, where he performed cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgeries, as well as BOTOX® Cosmetic for this group.

Many of his patients in San Antonio who were happy with their eyelid surgeries began to inquire about having him perform other facial cosmetic procedures, such as brow, cheek and face lifts, as well as implants and dermal fillers. Because of his interest in this area of medicine and his desire to provide his patients with state-of-the-art procedures, he decided to return for more advanced training. 

In 2004, Dr. Proffer was fortunate to be accepted to one of the 13 available fellowship positions in the country in oculofacial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He spent the next two years in an intensive fellowship program in Columbus, Ohio, in conjunction with Ohio State University, where he participated in over 2,800 surgical cases. In September of 2006, Paul helped establish Proffer Surgical Associates in Amarillo.

​Dr. Paul Proffer's practice interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and laser and non-surgical rejuvenation of the eyelids, brows, and face. Nonsurgical options include injectable neurotoxins and fillers. Dr. Proffer believes it is important to develop a personalized rejuvenation plan for each patient in order to reach their rejuvenation potential.
