Frequently Asked Questions about Silhouette InstaLift®
Ask a question-
How does Silhouette InstaLift® work?
Using a double-action effect, the procedure effectively adds skin smoothing and toning as well as definition to the face. The insertion of the sutures immediately repositions the tissue and stimulates the regeneration of collagen that will continue for many months. Gentle pressure is applied to the treated area to reshape the contours of your face.
-
How long does silhouette lift last?
The results typically last for between 18 months and two years, depending on a number of factors. To get the best results from your threads, you can make lifestyle changes such as wearing sunscreen, avoiding smoking and excessive drinking and following a balanced, healthy diet.
-
Who is a good candidate for Silhouette InstaLift®?
The procedure, also called Silhouette Soft, is recommended for men and women who want to correct sagging skin and loss of volume but aren’t ready for surgery.
-
What are the threads made from?
Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA) is the primary material used in the threads. It has a well-established safety record with many biomedical and pharmaceutical applications because it offers excellent biocompatibility and is biodegradable.
-
What makes the Silhouette InstaLift® threads unique?
There are small cones on the sutures that provides traction and fixation points which then stimulates the production and build-up of collagen.
-
Is the procedure safe?
The procedure has been developed after six years of research. With more than 150,000 treatments carried out around the world, Silhouette InstaLift® has been proved to be a safe, effective treatment to reverse some of the signs of aging.

I came to this location initially for Seborreah in my face which I've been suffering from it sporadically for years. I informed Dr. Abbott about it and she said she "thinks" it's eczema. I got prescribed prednisone and a topical sterioid and got really bad acne and gained weight. Then for acne, I got prescribed antibiotics which ended killing my stomach for weeks. After I told her about my side effects, the nurse prescribed me a wash my insurance wont cover. I requested to get tretinoid prescribed since it's the only topical that has worked for me in the past. I was told via their text message system to get OTC benzoyl peroxide. Of course it didnt help, I need a strong prescribed topical for moderate acne. I called the office 3 times about it and my calls were never returned. It's been three weeks. Now I'm dealing with horrible acne that wont go away. Don't go to this place!!!!

I rarely leave reviews but I feel compelled to warn others away from this practice. As a new patient, I received a text to confirm my appointment and accidentally hit the wrong response to indicate “reschedule”. I immediately called the practice to explain the mistake and confirm that I did not want to reschedule. They assured me the appointment was confirmed. When I showed up for the appointment (that I had waited weeks for) I was told it had been marked for rescheduling and that no one could see me.
They are disorganized and disrespectful of people’s time. I’ll be finding a different practice for my skim needs.

Great, Dr. Abbott and her Assistant, with a capital "A" were attentive to my concerns ... feelings of aliens crawling under my skin. Other drs responded like I was crazy. Dr. Abbott actually gave me a possible cause and common complaint . I'm not crazy. She's took a biopsy of the area as a precaution. Thanks. Go back in 2 weeks.

The practice is great! Support staff are courteous, kind and helpful. I really like Dr. Clay, but at times she seems so rushed. I will miss all of you!
