Lawrence S. Zachary, M.D., is Medical Director for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Weiss Memorial Hospital. He is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in body contouring and breast augmentation after massive weight loss (lifts and liposuction), breast reconstruction after breast cancer, breast reduction, facial plastic surgery, hand surgery, skin cancers and reconstructive surgery for traumatic defects. For numerous years, he has appeared on the Chicago magazine’s list of Chicago’s “Top Doctors” for the field of plastic surgery.

In the reconstructive surgery and body contouring field, new and innovative techniques are being developed for post-gastric by-pass patients. Dr. Zachary’s support group helps to address patient concerns with up-to-date information disseminated by trained professionals in their field and patient-to-patient interaction. Additionally, Dr. Zachary has had great success in treating patients who suffer from Raynaud’s Phenomenon caused by scleroderma or other collagen vascular diseases.

Dr. Zachary also is involved in the care of patients with orthopedic surgeons. He works closely with the joint replacement surgeons who specialize in the treatment of patients with previously infected knee or hip prostheses. He is involved in the soft tissue coverage of the knee or hip.
