Dr. Ben Light is a skilled, highly regarded facial plastic surgeon who takes the time to develop a relationship with each patient that enters his office.

He is certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology (Head & Neck Surgery) and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Located in Decatur, Alabama, Dr. Light is the only double board-certified and double fellowship trained facial plastic surgeon between the Birmingham and Nashville areas.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

After earning his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Dr. Light completed a head and neck surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He then returned to his alma mater in Chicago to complete a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with the renowned Dr. Dean Toriumi.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to opening his facial plastic surgery practice, Dr. Light served at the University of Florida as Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as Director of the University Aesthetic Center. In his capacities at the University of Florida, he performed hundreds of advanced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries and also trained other plastic surgeons. Dr. Light is a published author and has lectured across the country on rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation.

AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Light completed a rigorous examination process, including peer review, to become double board-certified. In addition to his membership in the American Academy of Otolargyngology and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Light is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Head and Neck Society, and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
