Dr. Erin Kennedy is a skilled and compassionate surgeon dedicated to providing a personalized and individualized approach to each patient’s goals and vision.

During your visit at EK Plastic surgery you can be assured she will take the time to gain an understanding of how you see yourself in the mirror. Dr. Kennedy wants to understand your goals and tailor your results to what you see. Meeting one on one with Dr. Kennedy and her nurse enables her to best understand your motivations, goals and to create a treatment plan suited specifically to you.

Dr. Kennedy is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery since 1997. The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is recognized as the only Plastic Surgery board - requiring the training, experience, excellence and judgment needed to provide the plastic surgery care you deserve.

Dr. Kennedy grew up in Omaha, Nebraska where she started her formal education at Creighton University and completed her BS in mathematics and achieved her Medical Doctorate with honors. Immediately after completing medical school, Dr. Kennedy began a rigorous general surgery residency in Madison, Wisconsin. After her general surgery residency she tested to achieve board certification in General Surgery. Dr. Kennedy furthered her training in Cincinnati where she completed her plastic surgery training at the University and Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals. Dr. Kennedy continued to refine her surgical skills with additional instruction in cosmetic plastic surgery in Miami, Florida.

In 1997, Dr. Kennedy and her family moved to Dubuque where she opened her own plastic surgery practice and has remained the only board-certified plastic surgeon residing in the tri-state area.

EK Plastic Surgery offers a vast array of cosmetic procedures and surgeries. During her many years of private practice, Dr. Kennedy has changed many lives and restored confidence to many more. Surgeries that Dr. Kennedy specializes in are; Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Breast Reduction, Tummy Tuck, Liposuction, and Blepharoplasty. Many of these can be performed in our private, AAAASF accredited, operating room suite on an outpatient basis, meaning you go home the same day as your procedure. Dr. Kennedy also specializes in many non-surgical, anti-aging procedures; Botox®, Semi-permanent Fillers, Laser treatments, Medically Managed Weight Loss and Coolsculpting®.

Dr. Kennedy believes in giving back to her specialty and community. She has been actively involved in medical ethics as Chairperson of the American Society of Plastic Surgery ethics committee and Finley hospitals disruptive physician committee. She has taught numerous courses nationally on accurate and ethical coding. Locally, Dr. Kennedy was on the Holy Family School board and has volunteered with scouting, at the Mission and at local schools.

When not working, Dr. Kennedy enjoys spending time with her children and traveling. Recently, she has taken up flying and earned her private pilot license and instrument endorsement. She is actively continuing to pursue new challenges and adventures.
