Dr. Michael R. Warner is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in both cosmetic dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. A native of Frederick, Dr. Warner received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Maryland. He pursued a four-year residency in dermatology at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Warner was chosen from competitors worldwide to complete a two-year fellowship in dermasurgery. In 2001, Dr. Warner returned to Frederick and founded the Skin Surgery Center. What is Dermasurgery?

Dermatology has experienced a boom of technology over the last 20 years. The advent of new lasers, cosmetic products and procedures led to the creation of a separate subspecialty called Dermasurgery. This subspecialty includes aspects of cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, laser dermatology and more. To obtain the highest level of expertise within dermatology, selected dermatologists undertake one or two years of fellowship training in addition to the traditional four-year residency.
