After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he received numerous commendations from the Dean, Dr. Najera obtained his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. From there, he spent time finishing additional advanced training in plastic surgery with the renowned Long Island Plastic Surgery Group in New York, which is the largest and longest running plastic surgery practice in North America. Dr. Najera is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition, Dr. Najera pursued additional subspecialty training in microsurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
