Education and Experience

Although Gaines Plastic Surgery opened its doors in 2012, Dr. Gaines has been practicing in the Gainesville, Florida, community since 1995. Dr. Gaines’ academic career began at the University of Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Science.

He then completed graduate studies at Princeton University, Post-Baccalaureate studies at the University of Texas, and his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch, before re-locating to central Florida.

Dr. Gaines finished his General Surgery Residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. In 2003, he narrowed his focus to plastic surgery and completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
