Profile of John Hamati, Dr
Dr. John Hamati is a proud native Texan who grew up in the Dallas area. He has a passion for breast and body contouring procedures, from breast augmentation and breast lifts and reductions, to tummy tucks and arm, body or thigh lifts. His individualized, compassionate approach to address concerns and his natural results help patients feel comfortable and confident in their bespoke experience.
Dr. Hamati earned his medical degree with honors from the John Sealy School of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. During medical school, he received numerous accolades recognizing his leadership and surgical aptitude, including the Crawford and Hattie Jackson Scholarship for Medical Education, the Hallie Manske and G.R. Manske, MD Presidential Scholarship in Medicine, and the Suzie Tindall Endowed Scholarship.
He continued at UTMB to complete a highly competitive and demanding Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency, where he trained across some of Texas’s most renowned medical institutions—including Shriners Children’s Texas, Dell Children’s Medical Center, Dell Seton Medical Center, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Hamati is a published author of peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts and has presented his research at both regional and national plastic surgery conferences.
A committed leader and educator, Dr. Hamati has been actively involved in shaping the future of plastic surgery. He served on national committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Aesthetic Society and was Chair of the Chief Resident Subcommittee at UTMB. He also mentored medical students through UTMB’s DIME Mentorship Program and the Plastic Surgery Medical Student Committee.
Fluent in Spanish and Lebanese Arabic, Dr. Hamati is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care, including patient safety. He is proud to serve the diverse Houston community.
