Victor A. Schingo, Jr. has been practicing Plastic Surgery in the Capital District since the summer of 2000.

He is a graduate of New York Medical College. While there, he was awarded Membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society and received the New York Medical College Trustee Scholarship for academic excellence.

Dr. Schingo’s interest in Plastic Surgery was initially fostered during his clinical rotations in medical school. Also while at medical school, Dr. Schingo met his future wife who is a native of the Capital District. After completing medical school in 1988, Dr. Schingo completed a five year general surgery residency at the University of Rochester and ultimately went on to complete his Plastic Surgery training at the prestigious University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

Dr. Schingo developed a strong interest in cosmetic Plastic Surgery at UCSF.

Therefore, he sought additional highly focused training in cosmetic surgery at New York University and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He is the only Plastic Surgeon in the area to have completed a one year fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery. Upon completing his cosmetic surgery fellowship in Manhattan, Dr. Schingo and his family relocated to the Capital District in 2000. His wife has strong ties to the Capital District and practices OB/GYN with her sister.

Dr. Schingo is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Schingo was accepted into the prestigious Rhinoplasty Society in 2023 due to his exceptional work with nasal surgery. While he enjoys all aspects of Plastic Sugery, in addition to nasal surgery, he has special interest in breast and body surgery as well as facial cosmetic surgery. He operates at Ellis Medicine as well as his Office Operating Room Suite. He also has privileges in Albany Medical Center.
