Dr. Chris Funderburk is a board-certified plastic surgeon who brings a powerful blend of Southern warmth and Ivy League precision to Neinstein Plastic Surgery. From his small-town roots to advanced training at some of the most respected institutions in the country, Dr. Chris offers a fresh perspective and a commitment to exceptional, personalized patient care.

He began his medical journey at Emory University, where he completed both medical school and a full General Surgery residency. He was then selected for the highly competitive Plastic Surgery residency at Dartmouth, and later went on to complete the same elite Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City as Dr. Neinstein.

At Neinstein Plastic Surgery, Dr. Chris specializes in body contouring, with a particular focus on liposuction, Mommy Makeovers, Post-weight loss skin removal (body lifts, tummy tucks, arm and thigh lifts), and aesthetic breast surgery. He is our male body specialist as well, with a tailored approach to male chest gynecomastia surgery and body contouring. He has undergone personal, hands-on training with Dr. Neinstein, mastering the advanced techniques that define the Neinstein Method of safe, refined, and natural-looking results. He has worked alongside Dr. Neinstein for over 5 years.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Chris is a dedicated academic. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national surgical conferences. He is also actively involved in teaching the next generation of plastic surgeons at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), Dr. Funderburk holds the highest certification available to plastic surgeons in the United States. His training spans the full spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, and his practice is grounded in the ABPS’s mission to promote ethical, effective, and high-quality care.
