Dr. David Cangello is a world-class, board-certified plastic surgeon in NYC who is trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as general surgery. While honing his talents at some of the nation’s top institutions, Dr. Cangello, who is also an artist, developed a personal philosophy that he has upheld in his career as a plastic surgeon: plastic surgery is a science and an art. Dr. Cangello attended Hamilton College for his undergraduate education and later advanced to Johns Hopkins University, earning a Master of Science degree from the Division of Reproductive Biology and Department of Biochemistry. He further developed his medical knowledge and gained valuable experience while spending an additional year performing scientific research at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Medicine.
During this time and throughout his training, he studied under and worked with some of the leading figures in medical research. In fact, he is one of only two surgeons in the world trained by Dr. Sydney Coleman, a pioneer of the fat grafting technique. Dr. Cangello later co-authored a chapter in Dr. Coleman’s book titled, “Fat Injection From Filling to Regeneration” regarding correction of liposuction deformities with fat transfer.
