Profile of Stephen Viviano, Dr
Dr. Stephen Viviano is a fellowship-trained and board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with specialization in microvascular surgery. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia and then returned home to Houston, Texas to earn his M.D. at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He then completed his six year residency in plastic surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. During his residency, he had the opportunity to train under many of the best surgeons in the tri-state area with a broad range of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures including gender-affirming surgery.
After residency, Dr. Viviano matched at the prestigious Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle — one of the highest volume centers for microsurgery in the county. There, he trained with world-renowned plastic surgeons to learn the newest and most advanced techniques in microvascular and lymphatic surgery. Dr. Viviano has a special interest in breast reconstruction and performs all types of implant-based and free flap reconstructions (DIEP, SIEA, PAP, TUG, etc). He is also one of the only surgeons in the area to perform prophylactic, reconstructive/physiologic, and excisional procedures for the treatment of lymphedema.
Dr. Viviano understands the challenges facing his patients. He strives to involve each patient in every aspect of the process so that they are as informed, prepared, and comfortable as possible.
