Profile of H. Jae Chun, Dr

Dr. Chun is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His practice is exclusively devoted to breast implant removal, total/en-bloc capsulectomy, and mastopexy. He is recognized worldwide as a leader in treating Breast Implant Illness patients and performs total/en-bloc capsulectomy on every case. He has been featured in numerous publications, TV shows, and documentaries. He is devoted to raising awareness about BII, highlighting long-term problems associated with breast implants, and educating on proper surgical techniques.

Profoundly influenced by the pioneering work of Dr. Tessier in craniofacial surgery, Dr. Chun decided in high school to pursue plastic surgery. He was one of sixty high school students nationwide to be accepted directly into the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University Medical School. After graduating with AOA Honors, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Southern California Medical Center and became certified by the American Board of Surgery. This was followed by plastic surgery training at USC, and then additional training in explant surgery. He has over 25 years of experience with explant surgery and has performed around 5000 explant surgeries. His practice is currently dedicated only to breast implant removal, total/en-bloc capsulectomy, and mastopexy when necessary. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
