Profile of Seung K. Kim, Dr

Dr. Seung K. Kim has been practicing plastic surgery in the Bay area for more than twenty five years. His masterful technique and thoughtful innovations in the field have gained him recognition as one of the area’s premiere plastic surgeons. Dr. Kim currently devotes his time exclusively to aesthetic surgery and treatments after specializing in reconstructive micro-surgery in his early career.

After graduating from Dartmouth College with honors including Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Kim attended Stanford University for his entire medical education â€” medical school, general surgery and plastic surgery training. He was an assistant professor in plastic surgery at Stanford from 1983 to 1987 and has been a clinical faculty member at Stanford ever since.

Dr. Kim believes in lifetime learning. He constantly evaluates his own work critically to refine his expertise. He regularly attends educational meetings to stay current with the latest advances in plastic surgery. He incorporates new techniques into his own practice only after he evaluates their effectiveness and safety thoroughly. Dr. Kim is also passionate about teaching. As Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery at Stanford, he devotes many hours teaching young doctors in training.

Dr. Kim is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which is the only nationally recognized certifying board for plastic surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).
