Today, after a long string of poor experiences here I decided to discontinue my very short treatment at Accent. I’d also like to add that this is the first poor review I’ve ever left for any business, but my experience here was so bad that I wanted to let potential patrons know before wasting time here. I just wanted to get SLIT immunotherapy here; this is administered by me at home, which I thought should have been a minimal effort on the part of the staff. Even though this treatment is not covered by insurance, I was fine with paying out of pocket as well so that was never an issue.
After the very first time calling the office, and one of the nurses discouraging me from treatment (immuno has helped me greatly in the past by the way), I should have just picked another office. My first round of prescriptions from here was incorrect upon refill at cvs, but one of the techs explained that this was an accident potentially on the part of cvs, which was okay because mistakes happen.
Upon one of the first appointments I had, the office asked me to send in old allergy test results, which I did. About a week or two after sending in my results the nurse called to tell me they still needed the documents...which had been sitting in their email inbox. After apologizing for this, which was an understandable mistake, I told her it was no problem and she asked me to come in Monday, July 16th in the morning to administer my first vial and send me home with the rest, which I agreed to. When I came in on Monday July 16, the receptionist informed me that not only did I not have an appointment, but the nurse who I was working directly with was out for the day. I chalked this up to a miscommunication over the phone, and was still determined to get treatment from this office despite my mounting unpleasant experiences.
Today, I called accent ent to reschedule my appointment which, mind you, I still just wanted to pick up my vials and go home. I didn’t catch the name of the receptionist I talked to, but I must have chosen a bad time to call because she was flustered and rude. When the receptionist asked what I was looking to do I let her know that I had been to the office before and just needed an appointment to pick up my vials & perhaps get my first vial administered to me. In response to this she says:
“Are you a new patient or returning patient?”
I was caught off guard because she obviously hadn’t heard or wasn’t listening to what I needed. So I told her I was a returning patient, chalking it up to a bad phone reception. She started taking down my insurance information at this point and I asked her why she needed this info, as I am an existing patient. She replies to me:
“Well YOU said YOU were a new patient.”
I’m in stunned silence at how rude this is and don’t even respond to this last part. I’m like okay, well I just need an appointment please. We scheduled one, with her in a flustered tone the entire time. I misheard her at the end when she asked “Is 11:10 okay?”, and I thought she’d asked is “11 or 10 okay?”. I replied yes 11 is fine, which she said “NO 11:10 would be appointment time”, exasperated.
Honestly I scheduled the appointment still in shock from this open unprofessionalism from a doctors office of all places. I’ll be calling tomorrow to cancel my appointments indefinitely after considering all this.

Again, all I wanted was an at home treatment from this office. I just needed them to prepare the vials and I would have been able to administer them myself. Time and time again this office has left me feeling unimportant and I don’t want to do prolonged business with an office that doesn’t prioritize my well-being. It’s unfortunate that I wasted three months going back and forth with this office and still haven’t gotten the treatment I need. If you’re considering coming here I’d definitely say to try somwhere else, as the staff may be nice but are generally negligent or perhaps understaffed.
