They have a listed price for one of their procedures. I set up an appointment for a consult online and everything seemed to be going well. I show up in person and they realize I’m transgender and the entire atmosphere changes immediately. Dr. Compoginis practically ran out of the consultation, he spent less than 5 minutes in the room; I felt rushed and hardly had any time to ask questions. He says someone will be right in to help with the appointments and pricing breakdown. The person who came in tells me: “we are not going to honor the listed price. The price is actually increasing today.” She refused to clarify on their reasoning behind the price hike and literally quoted me 8x the listed price. It changed from $250 to $2,000 for a single session of laser hair removal on just the legs. That quote was just insulting. I couldn’t get a solid reason why they were charging me more than the listed price, she just shrugged her shoulders, literally laughed in my face (not exaggerating on this, she literally laughed while relaying the information on the price gouging), and said it was a new personal quote. I’ve been dealing with bigoted staff members at hair salons, medical facilities, pharmacies, and just about everywhere else since I came out and this is just another facility to add to that list. It’s exhausting. If you’re lgbt or trans I would avoid this place, they clearly do not want your business.
