Nov 22, 2024Buyer beware. Shelia Barbarino is actually an "eye" doctor. Please research the doctor before allowing them to perform any type of procedure on you. You want to make sure that the doctor is board certified in the procedure(s) he or she is performing.
If I could take back my experience with her I would. Not only was I under false impression of her medical background; I was forced a procedure while under local sedation and mild sedative without my consent. I made it clear that I didn’t want the additional procedure and Dr. Barbarino did it anyway, and said (while I was sedated) “I’d thank her later.” After the procedure was completed, I was in a bit of shock not truly realizing what had just happened.
After the procedure and some healing time had passed; I went back for a post-operative appointment and to ask why the additional procedure happened? And reminded the doctor that I did not consent to it; the doctor denied it. I then requested copies of my medical record and a after a week, I finally received copies of my file. I was shocked to see my paperwork was changed; a signature I didn’t sign for this particular added procedure along with date changes.
This was a huge personal decision to have cosmetic surgery in the first place and I decided not to pursue legal action and only want to educate other people out there wanting to do something for themselves to be wise ad make certain that you know about the physician you are choosing to operate on you. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. My health was compromised against my consent and I’m still dealing with issues from it over a year plus later.
Sincerley,
Plastic Surgery gone wrong!
