Nov 19, 2024PLEASE DON'T GO TO HER.
Let me start by saying that she is a surface level nice person but after my experience with her and reading other people's experiences this is the last place you want to go.
I went to Dr.Ploplys in 2017 for a breast reduction. I had waited almost 9 months to see her for a consult so when she told me we could perform the surgery in only a few months I was very excited. I had the surgery in May and was initially happy but after a year I noticed that the results were not very good. The stitching looked sloppy and uneven which she warned me was possible so I scheduled a scar revision in May of 2020.
It was an in house revision with local anesthesia. The procedure took less than an hour and looking back at it now it was very weird that she wasn't wearing gloves. Maybe it was the nerves of getting cut open or the trust I had put in her as my doctor but I didn't say anything. She finished me up and put surgical tape over the stitched but no gauze. She told me to put my regular bra on which I found very odd since the first time around I was bandaged up and had no exposure to anything that could possibly infect me.
Fast forward to later that night I was in so much pain. I knew that I would experience some discomfort since I was just cut open but nothing was helping. I went in later the that week to have it looked at. It was very red and oozing so a culture was taken. She sent me home with an antibiotic and told me she would inform me of the results. I came back in a few days later to have it looked at again and after asking what the results were she very passively told me it was a Staph Aureus infection... I was shocked because when I asked her how this could have happened she said most likely a contaminated instrument and that was it. No emotion, no remorse. Just a very insensitive explanation. She told me my only option was to let the infected tissue heal on its own. TMI but the infection had split my stitches very wide and I could see breast tissue very clearly. Eventually it healed up and it took about a month and a half before the wound left by the infection closed up.
TLDR; Got a staph infection that ruined my breasts. Doctor was very insensitive and dismissive. 0/10 would not recommend.
