Apr 6, 2025Dr. Ciminello saw me 15 years ago when I had an accident where a dog bit my ear off. I was taken into the hospital but it took a couple of hours to get the attending surgeon (not Dr. Ciminello) to be able to reattach my ear as this happened in the middle of the night. Due to the delay in reattaching my ear, my ear lobe was rejected by my body and I was referred to Dr. Ciminello. From the moment I met Dr. Ciminello I was at ease- he was very reassuring and compassionate towards me. He advocated for me and fought with my insurance company to be able to do my surgery as he was out of network but was the only pediatric plastic surgeon in New Jersey. He was able to take a skin graft from my neck and attach it onto my ear to make it look like a normal ear lobe. He even was nice enough to pierce my new ear lobe after my surgery healed. Throughout the years I'm sure he has done a lot of great things for other patients, but after 15 years has passed I will never forget the fact that he was compassionate and went above and beyond to give me a sense of normalcy in a very unfortunate situation for a 13 year old girl. Thank you Dr. Ciminello, I will forever be grateful for all that you did for me.
