Abdominoplasty Surgery and liposuction 4/13/23; I paid for lipo of flank and bra midriff areas, he lipo'd my upper hips, which I didn't expect and it appears that my bra line wasn't even touched. Abdominoplasty; he placed my belly button to low, and left bunched up hard lumps of sutured skin and tissue at my pelvis pubic-panty line which is still there and painful a year later like a tree branch at the suture line, also liposuction to my Abdomin was uneven; R side he left pocket of fat compared to flat L side.
There was an over night stay, during the stay the over night nurse caused a large blister on my right thigh from shearing which happend from pulling the plastic pad or sheet from under me without turning me over, the scar is still there. I'm an RN and have worked for 45 years in nursing. I was sent home from surgery with NO drains and bled all over everything all the way home and for 3 days. the drain hole healed fast, causing the accumulation of bloody fluid, which collected in my Abdomen and hips for months. I should have insisted on drains. He does no History and physical nor pre surgery labs to check blood health, I became very anemic within the weeks after surgery due to blood loss. The information on WHAT to expect post op was very limited. Do your post op care and expectation research before surgery!!!! It's NOT a walk in the park. Dr. doesn't tell you everything you need to know. He didn't offer a compression garment or FAHA nor inform me of lymphatic drainage massage, you need to know how important it is. I found out months later online!! When I mentioned it, he then let me know I could have one free FAHA and they mailed me one. It was really too late for post op compression. Another thing, I was told I might have some numbness around my umbilical area, yes about 6 inches around it that is still totally numb. Total numbness 12 Months later, no sign of feeling. I need 2 more surgeries, but will choose another surgeon! BTW he was using and old inaccurate scale 10Lbs off, from mid century. It was never correct, so I supplied one for his office.
Just had my 1 year post op visit today. New scale still in good use, my weight 25Lb less than 6 months ago. Dr was amazed at my weight loss. it wasn't easy, he explained away all my complaints and wanted me to sign a waiver so he could use my before and after pictures from my hard work dieting and exercise. I decined. He said I should have lost the weight before he did the surgery. I do agree.
