Jul 5, 2025Eric T. Hisaka, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon, was highly recommended to me by my close friends, a board-certified anesthesiologist and a cardiac surgery nurse, to perform my upper and lower blepharoplasties. Following my surgery, as a long time healthcare professional myself, I feel Dr. Hisaka was the best choice for me. This is due to the following:
The extra time Dr. Hisaka spent talking to and interacting with me during his extensive preoperative preparation for my surgery allowed him to construct an individual treatment plan just for me.
The payoff for developing and planning my blepharoplasty procedure with such care was the ease with which Dr. Hisaka was able to perform my surgery, resulting in very minimal post operative surgical bruising and pain.
Dr. Hisaka's calming and reassuring bedside manner reflects a consummate medical professional who has successfully run his own private surgical practice for many years. Along with a focus on perfecting his surgical skills and the use of medical magnifying loupes, he eased my patient anxieties with a caring and compassionate demeanor. With Dr. Hisaka's full support and instructions prior to surgery, I was poised to build my self-confidence and coping mechanisms to handle any issues that might arise after my operation.
Dr. Hisaka graduated from UC Davis medical school and subsequently completed full surgical residencies in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. He is board certified in both.
Dr. Hisaka has a spotless, clean, attractive and modern office and a friendly, competent, and trained staff, Preeti Khale and Emma Keller, who were eager to help me with any concerns.
Dr. Hisaka's hand-eye coordination skills are similar to that of a concert pianist. He is so light handed that one is barely aware of his touch. Dr. Hisaka curates his surgical team, as he only works at hospitals and surgery centers where the anesthesiologists, nurses, and technicians can meet his expectations in procedural management while providing him with well-functioning and routinely maintained, technically-advanced equipment. When all of those boxes are checked, as they were for my surgical experience, the net result was maximum efficiency and safety, minimal patient discomfort, minimal need for pain medication, fast healing, and a quick return to normalcy. I had general anesthesia and was intubated. I did not have a sore throat following my procedure.
I had my surgical procedure at the Tri Valley Surgery Center in Dublin, California. Of note were my anesthesiologist, Howard Tsuchiya, MD and the surgical nurse, Courtney, who treated me with dignity and respect and who took care of me before, during, and after surgery. At a time when I had to surrender control of my body to others and could have felt the most vulnerable, I felt emotionally supported by Dr. Hisaka's surgical team throughout my stay there.
There are very few doctors that I would trust using a sharp scalpel in close proximity to my eyes. Dr. Hisaka is number ONE !!!!!!!
Thank you, Dr. Hisaka, for sharing your clinical skills, your passion for your life's work, and your compassion for your patients with me and others. I feel and look refreshed. I am very pleased with my experience.
Sincerely,
R. T. Lee, RDHEF, MS
