I have been a patient here for close to two years and am still dealing with the aftermath of the procedure performed by Dr Thomas Mustoe. I went in for a consultation and was told a scar I had from youth would benefit from reconstruction. There was no mention of my ethnicity and how it would prolong and possibly negatively influence the healing. After the procedure, I suffered from complications during healing and was only then told that Asians heal poorly and that I would be dealing with the discoloration and scarring for seven years. Every month for the past two years he has injected me with steroids, without numbing me and told me the same story of how this is expected and it will get better eventually. Recently, I had him do a scar reconstruction and paid for it again and HE MESSED IT UP AGAIN! I suspect that he cut out the stitch prematurely and the wound became open and infected. Instead of being apologetic now he is rude and dismissive, not even telling me to come in for post op visits. It feels like he and his team are buying time till the two year mark. This whole process has become a nightmare and his lack of care and ability to correct his mistakes is disturbing. Please be aware of what you are signing up for and spare yourself the lack of patient care that I have been receiving here.
