Steven J. Cyr, Dr

I was very disappointed with the experience I had with Dr. Cyr’s staff on the day of my appointment and after. The lack of professionalism I experienced the day of my visit left me uncomfortable in the care of your office. I do not doubt that Dr. Cyr is an incredible surgeon, but it’s the entire team that cares for a patient. Dr. Cyr’s office reached out to me to reschedule my original appointment to a later time and I accepted, but called back in hopes that something may come available sooner. I called and spoke with someone from their office multiple times prior to my appointment and the morning of my appointment to inquire about an earlier appointment availability and was told they would call me back if anything came available sooner. I took time off of work and drove quite a distance all which cost me money. I showed to up to my appointment about 20 minutes early and stood at the counter for quite some time before an employee walked in the front door with grocery bags and acted surprised to see me there. She asked if I had an appointment and then walked in the back and turned the lights on. During that time a second employee walked in also surprised to see me standing there and also carrying grocery bags. When I was called back I was asked if I wanted the bad news or good news first. I was also told they tried to call me. I had absolutely no missed phone calls and no voicemails. but I do indeed know Their office has my correct number as their office did call to reschedule me. Caroline refused to refund my deposit money and told me “Please be aware that our consultation fee is non-refundable as stated on our website under the payment policy. I do want to make you aware that if you do not wish to reschedule, you are forfeiting that $100.00 amount. Regrettably, we did the best we could in contacting you that day and it was the rare case that you missed our call and did not hear the voicemail”. This statement is 100% incorrect as nobody reached out and if they called the incorrect phone number and left a voicemail to that wrong number, that absolutely is not fault of mine. Caroline then went on to ignore my second email which was basically worded exactly as this review. I resent the email 2 more times and she still ignored my response. I understand a non-refundable deposit in a situation in which I actually had a consultation and in a situation where a patient declined to pursue surgery after a consult or declined a consult for any reason that is not due to lack of communication and professionalism from the provider. I was very disappointed in the way everything was handled and I do believe Dr. Cyr’s office should be able to refund my deposit due to the situation, as this error cost me money not only in my trip to the office and back, but also that I had to take time off work. I too work in the medical field and our office has been able to refund non refundable deposits in situations that are at no fault of the patient. Again it’s not only the doctor who cares for the patient, it is the entire team. Please consider that when selecting your physician.
