Jun 30, 2025I'm updating my review given the unhinged response below: I am a real patient. I had upper eyelid surgery with Dr. Amato over a year ago and was left with noticeable asymmetry that has not improved. In my opinion, her mood swings during my appointments made me uncomfortable and seemed emotionally unstable. At the time, I brushed it off. But after reading her public response to my original review, accusing me of being a fake patient and speculating wildly about nerve palsy or congenital defects, it all makes more sense. The tone she used publicly matches the instability I experienced privately. I should have walked out of her office and not let her cut on me. Symmetry matters in eyelid surgery, and in my case, it was clearly not achieved. I am now having it corrected by a plastic surgeon. I initially chose an oculoplastic surgeon believing they would have more aesthetic precision, but the outcome and her response have made me feel it could have been intentional. Patients deserve better.
