I recently underwent breast implant removal (also known as breast explant surgery) with Dr. Antell in New York City. From the very beginning, I knew Dr. Antell was the right surgeon for my implant removal. Everything about the process was smooth, organized, and reassuring, from booking my consultation to the day of my surgery.

One of the highlights of my experience was Dr. Antell’s incredible nurse, Nancy. She welcomed me with warmth, listened to my concerns, and provided insightful, real-life examples of what to expect. I came into this process terrified. After living with 475cc saline implants for eight years, I no longer wanted large breasts, but the idea of removing them was daunting. From the start, they made me feel safe and supported, while presenting me with multiple options so that I could make an informed choice.

Initially, I thought I might exchange my implants for smaller ones. Instead, after discussing the options, I decided to remove them entirely. The team suggested deflating my saline implants first which is a quick in-office procedure where they removed the saline solution so I could see my natural breasts again before committing. This step was simple, comfortable, and so helpful in my decision-making.

Between the deflation and the actual explant surgery, communication was seamless. I could reach out anytime with questions, and I always felt heard and supported. The following week, I had the final procedure to remove the implant shells. This was done under local anesthesia in Dr. Antell’s office operating room. The surgery itself lasted about an hour, and before I knew it, I was home and recovering. Everything went exactly as explained - smooth, professional, and stress-free.

Dr. Antell himself is patient, kind, and extremely experienced. I had endless questions, and he answered each one with patience and care. I even did my due diligence and saw another surgeon for comparison, but that visit only confirmed that Dr. Antell was the right choice. His expertise and his team’s attentiveness set them apart.

If you’re considering breast implant removal and feeling hesitant, I can wholeheartedly say, just do it. You won’t regret it. Dr. Antell and his staff make the entire process seamless, supportive, and empowering. I’m so grateful for their care and highly recommend them to anyone navigating this decision.
