Dec 20, 2025I went to Dr. Young for serious breathing issues after a nasal injury. I couldn’t breathe through my nose and needed a functional solution, not cosmetic work. Out of multiple ENT quotes, Dr. Young was by far the highest, and he pressured me with a “time-limited” quote to lock in quickly rather than compare more options.
After paying a deposit and booking months in advance, he tried to reschedule me just a week before surgery — very unprofessional after taking my deposit.
On the day of surgery, no CT scan or X-rays were done at all. For anyone wondering, a typical ENT for functional breathing issues usually:
• Reviews your airway with a CT scan or endoscopy so they know exactly what’s blocked.
• Explains what structural issues will be fixed (septum, turbinates, valves, etc.).
• Uses splints or stents after surgery to help healing and keep the airway open.
Instead, Dr. Young placed tools inside my nose, asked if I could breathe (I couldn’t), took a bunch of photos, and said he’d “morph” them (Photoshop) to show me changes. Breathing was supposed to be the main goal, but this felt more like a cosmetic consultation.
He referred me to two overnight nurse options: one charging thousands per night (absurd), and another around $1,000 per night, which I reluctantly chose. Even that felt unnecessary for what was supposed to be a breathing-focused surgery.
After surgery, there were no splints — just tape and gauze. When packing my right nostril, he struggled repeatedly, forcing it while my head pounded in pain. Then he casually said he “didn’t even go through that side,” even though both sides were supposed to be corrected. That left me wondering if the surgery was even done as promised.
Over the following weeks, my right nostril stayed blocked. He told me to use sprays and later told me to come back, but by that point, my confidence was gone.
Years later, I still can’t breathe out of my right nostril. Nothing has changed. I still wear nasal strips just to sleep. For the highest-priced ENT I could find, I received zero results.
Dr. Young may be personable, but in my experience, he acted more like a salesman than a doctor. He skipped standard diagnostic steps (no CT or imaging), and left me with the same breathing problem I started with. If you’re looking for a true functional ENT, find one who follows the proper process and prioritizes results over sales tactics.
P.S
This review should’ve been posted years ago. I gave him benefit of the doubt and prayed. It’s time to speak up.
