Mar 10, 2026I worked with HELYN ALVAREZ last year in the summer. She was not helpful for me at all. She saw my skin and immediately suggested birth control or accutane two drugs I specifically said I am not interested in taking! Instead of asking medical history, skin history, or frankly any questions I was met with “this is your only option” here’s some doxycycline goodbye. Which by the way the doxycycline she gave me made me vomit everyday because the dose was way too high for my BMI something I was told when I went to an urgent care. I decided to not take these medications and have a 15 minute conversation with AI and was met with more empathy and more questions than the doctor! I want to reiterate how much I would prefer to pay my copay and see a doctor and have a conversation with a human however I was looked at as a customer not a patient and given little to no care! My skin is completely clear now and no accutane was needed because turns out I have eczema and accutane would have made my skin way WORSE! So if you require more than 2 minutes from a doctor might want to try a different doctor! If you’re looking for quick generic solutions that EVERYONE suggests this is the place for you.
