This review is based on my second visit with Dr. Anne Walter. Last week, I arrived for my follow-up appointment on time. After sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes, I went to the reception desk and asked if the doctor was running behind. She checked and told me that the doctor was running an hour behind! I told them I could not wait that long and asked to reschedule. The first appointment was not for another 3 weeks. I asked her to have the doctor call me. It has been almost a week and no follow-up from Anne Walter.

I understand that it is easy for a doctor to run behind, especially if an emergency arises. I can appreciate that a doctor can accommodate fitting in a patient, because, one day, I may need to be that patient that needs to be squeezed. However, I find it unacceptable that the office 1) did not call me prior to me driving to the office to tell me that the doctor was running behind and 2) that nobody told me that the doctor was running behind when I arrived and checked in. The doctor obviously thinks her time is more valuable than her patients’ time by not extending them the courtesy of letting them know they will sit in her office an hour to see her.

This unfortunate situation could have been salvaged if the doctor called to apologize or attempted to reschedule my appointment earlier than 3 weeks out. If she has a 3 week wait to see her, she’s not hurting for patients.

As for the care on my first visit, it was fine; not spectacular, but not bad. Suffice it to say, she’s not worth an hour wait. I won’t be sad to look for a new dermatologist.
