Profile of Steven Pisano, Dr

Dr. Steven Pisano received his M.D. in 1985 from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He then completed an Internship at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio followed by general surgery training at the State University of New York in Buffalo.

Dr. Pisano took his plastic surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Following this training, Dr. Pisano spent a year as a Junior Faculty Associate-Microvascular Fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. There he received extensive training in reconstruction of the extremities, trunk, head and neck areas, and especially, in breast reconstruction.

Following his fellowship training at MD Anderson, Dr. Pisano founded – along with friend and colleague Dr. Peter Ledoux – Plastic Reconstructive and Microsurgical Associates, PRMA, with the goal of bringing state-of-the-art breast reconstruction to San Antonio and South Texas.
