Dr. David Gerth, our Miami beach plastic surgeon, felt drawn to pursue a career in the sciences from a young age. While he was working toward earning his B.S. degree in genetics at the University of Georgia in Athens, he worked in a cellular developmental biology lab and volunteered at the local hospital. After completing his undergraduate studies, he ultimately decided he would thrive in a medical career because it would allow him to meet, interact with, and help people from many different backgrounds and walks of life.

As a service provider, Dr. Gerth believes the essential element to aesthetic treatment is excellence in the outcomes, second only to the delivery of the service itself. He always keeps his patients’ best interests in mind, knowing that open, honest communication is key to establishing a doctor-patient relationship. To this end, he works one-on-one with each patient to make sure he understands their aesthetic goals desires, and concerns. That way, he can recommend what treatment will be best to help achieve ideal outcomes and give them a thorough understanding of how their recovery will proceed.

Dr. Gerth has completed accredited training programs in Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) and Plastic Surgery, both recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.  He has also successfully completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as recognized by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery.  Few, if any, surgeons practicing in South Florida today possess this comprehensive training background. This uniquely qualifies Dr. Gerth to perform superior aesthetic and reconstructive procedures for the face, which can be the most challenging part of the body to work on. Furthermore, the attention to detail and delicate tissue handling he applies to his facial work has enhanced his outcomes for breast and body aesthetic procedures as well.

Dr. Gerth finds his work personally enriching. In helping many patients, he has been able to learn so much about humanity. He also finds tremendous fulfillment and satisfaction in providing excellent results and helping solve difficult problems for his patients.
