Dr. Rafael Antún is an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery member with training in urology, general surgery, and urology in the United States. Following the study of medicine in the Dominican Republic, his native country, Dr. Antún began a residency with the acclaimed Nassau University Medical Center. He followed up with a University of Miami surgical residency in their urology program. He later became a medical school faculty member there. At the University of Miami, Dr. Antún dramatically raised his profile by becoming the first surgeon to perform a radical prostatectomy for a heart transplant patient.
