Upon completing his Undergraduate Degree in Biochemistry at Northwestern University,  Dr. Raine earned his Medical Doctorate at Medical College of Wisconsin (Marquette University) during which time, he was selected by the International College of Surgeons to study surgical transplant at University of Cambridge in England.  He continued on to complete five years of general surgery at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.  He then completed specialized training in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, where he studied with some of the outstanding leaders in the field of plastic surgery.  

Dr. Raine has held academic positions at several universities including University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago and Wayne State University.  Dr. Raine is currently on surgical staff at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.  He also holds surgical privileges at Tinley Woods Surgery Center in Tinley Park, IL and Champaign SurgiCenter in Champaign, IL. 

Dr. Raine is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgery (founding Board member), the International College of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  In addition to being a distinguished lecturer, he is the author of numerous scientific papers and four book chapters in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. 

For the past twenty years, Dr. Raine has proudly traveled the world as one of the key members of an elite surgical team correcting deformities in children and adults in under-served areas of the world including Mexico, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Honduras, Philippine Islands, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago.  Over 1,500 deformed and desperate people have been given new hope for a better life through the team's twenty five missions.  Dr. Raine and the team are grateful for the privilege to ease the suffering of the poor, one person at a time, in this most intimate and profound way.
