Dr. Sloan began Medical School intending to be a radiologist, having had only limited exposure to plastic surgery. Then he took an elective course in the Plastic Surgery Department at Stanford University. “After that month of training at Stanford, I just knew that this was what I was meant to do,” says Dr. Sloan.
After completing General Surgery training at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1990, he began a year of training in Plastic Surgery at City Hospital in Nottingham, England. This was followed by two years of Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Miami in Florida under the direction of Dr. Ralph Millard, one of the most decorated and influential plastic surgeons of all time.
