Dr. Evangelisti credits his experience in the military for refining his approach to plastic surgery. As a hand and plastic surgeon while stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, he learned how to avoid complications at all costs and do exactly what his patients wanted or needed. Military medicine promoted a conservatism that has stayed with Dr. Evangelisti throughout his career in private practice.
Upon completion of his service to the military, Dr. Evangelisti returned to Rochester as a faculty member of the University of Rochester. As an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery, he has been an integral part of the training of future plastic surgeons in cosmetic and hand surgery at Strong. The focus of his private practice includes breast cancer and skin cancer reconstruction, as well as hand and aesthetic surgery.
