About

Mary did her residency in plastic surgery at Northwestern Hospital and Cook County Hospital under the direction of Orion Stuteville, M.D., D.D.S. She was one of approximately six female plastic surgeons at that time certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as the American Board of Surgery. Dr. McKenzie established the first plastic surgical practice in the Fox Valley in St. Charles, Illinois in a 1400 square foot space at 895 Geneva Road. She was affiliated with Delnor Hospital in St. Charles as well as Community Hospital in Geneva. Dr. McKenzie had interests in aesthetic surgery as well as pediatric plastic surgery. She was on the teaching staff at Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago as well as an early member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In 1982 she was one of the first practices to achieve national accreditation with AAAASF for her outpatient surgical facility.
