Profile

A native New Yorker, Amiya Prasad was surrounded by faces: faces of many cultures, ages and ethnicities. Their movements and expressions, structures and muscles inspired Prasad to pursue his sub-specialty oculofacial (eye and face) surgery. Today he is ranked in the company of only about 500 oculofacial surgeons worldwide.

Amiya Prasad earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1988 and went on to continue his internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center. He accepted a pre-residency research fellowship in the highly competitive Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. He completed his residency in eye surgery at Brookdale University Hospital. There, Prasad mastered the intricate techniques of microscopic surgery.

In 1993, Dr. Prasad began a Fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas-Galveston; a Preceptorship in ENT/Facial Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, followed from 1994 to 1995. Brookdale University Hospital recognized for outstanding surgical results, had Dr. Prasad develop a highly specialized Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Division. He served as Chief of Surgery at the Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Division, Brookdale University Hospital from 1995 to 1998.

Dr. Prasad wanted to pursue a more personalized approach to aesthetic surgery. In 1998 Prasad Cosmetic Surgery, his private practice, opened on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with a second office in Garden City, Long Island.

Today, Dr. Prasad is widely regarded by his patients and peers as the very best in his field. His finely perfected surgical techniques result in rejuvenated natural appearances that do not alter the unique characteristics that each individual face possesses.

Dr. Amiya Prasad is a super-specialist, a medical term that describes copious training, experience and accreditation that amounts to superior specialization within a particular field.

Good doctor. Dr. Prasad's prices are insanely expensive. I had a very tiny cyst under my left eye. Dr. Prasad wanted $3500 to remove the cyst. Crazy!...

Once I hit around the age of 45, I noticed I started to experience some early on-set patterned hair loss due to hormonal in-balances (Choi, 2020). I really...

I don't typically like writing bad reviews and especially in this case because the office staff here is more than wonderful, but I feel it's important to share. This was the biggest waste of money I ever spent. He Promises results that he knows he can't deliver. I had dark eye bags, which Dr. Prasad said he could remove and after $11,000 for a lower bleph and PRP you can see that I still have the exact same eye bag. You should also be ready for an upsell as mentioned in other reviews. He tried to sell a $3000 a type of filler that apparently is injected into the bones. Thankfully, I rejected that. What's worse is since the procedure I develop severe blepharitis, went on 2 courses of steroid medication and I'm still experiencing terrible pain and eye pressure. Dr. Prasad took no responsibility and instead suggested I see an ENT for a sinus infection This was a total waste of money and huge disappointment. For some reason real self has great reviews, so I suggest you go to his Facebook page, yelp and Google to get the real deal here. These pics are 4 months post surgery so Judge for yourself, do yourself a favor and find another doctor. Apology to his wonderful staff.

I visited Dr. Parsad for a mini face-lift consultation at a cost of $300.00, it was rushed and a waste of money and time. Instead of a mini lift, he suggested that I have fillers done for $11,000 and one upper eyelid operation performed for $7000.00. I found that suggestion puzzling as I was not there for an eyelid. You tube presentation, was vastly different from the reality.

Totally unrealistic results. I went to this office on April 2016 for a hair restoration treatment. I decided to visit this clinic because they offered a different solution to FUT and FUE neo graphs. They advertised on the internet that they have a special formula which consists of a PRP + EMC injection treatment that can regenerate your hair. They said that the treatment will last for a minimum of 3 years to a maximum of 5 years. As of today, it has been exactly 28 months after I started the treatment and this is how my hair looks today. I have less hair now than what I did when I when there. I have attached some images of me for you to see how I look before and after 28 months. Before I went to this clinic, I was taking minoxidil twice a day using rogain, I was taking a bunch of vitamins for the hair including biotin and saw palmetto, I was also washing my hair with special shampoos and conditioners and I was also doing the laser treatment with a device I bought out of ebay 3 to 4 times a week. When I finished the treatment for my hair, I was advice by the doctor not to take anything else for the hair because any other products could have a negative impact on the treatment on my hair and he also said he wanted me to see the progress of the treatment and how it will work on my hair so I stop everything. The reason why I went there is because I didn’t want to do any of those things anymore. I was taking too long every day and I was spending a lot of money on all those products. I wanted a semi permanent solution. That’s how I found out about the hair restoration. The treatment did work but for a very short period of time. For the first 3 months, I was shading a lot of thin hair. After 9 months I was somehow fuller but not even close to what this clinic shows you in their sample pictures. After a year, my hair started to fall again so I decided to give it a little more time to continue working and see if there were any more positive results. From there it has only gotten worse. The doctor told me that the bald spor in my back was going to be covered and that never happend. Most of my close friend were very concerned that I spent $5000 USD for this treatment and I look like this. Some of them have spent only $3000 including airfair to get their hair treatment done in turkey which includes maximum neo graphs, hospital stay and also the + the PRP treatment included and they are looking like movie starts and me, I have to still wear a hat after spending almost double as they did. I was very afraid of the FUT treatment but after reading about the neo graphs I think I will give that treatment a try. I have found 4 to 5 different doctors abroad that I proven to deliver good results. There is a lot of bad talk about some of the results that people get in turkey and that's why I decided to regenerate my hair instead of the transplant. But after seen my friends results, It is hard to argue. My friends hairline is so dense and beautiful. He even pulls his hair. Me, I con my hair to the side in order to hide my ball spots in the front and the back. The reason why I write this review is because I know how you feel. You have the biggest hope just like I did. I'm just letting you know my personal experience. It took me 6 months to get some volume of hair in my head. That volume only lasted an extra 6 months and after than it all went downhill. With $5000 USD I would have gone to Turkey 2x times with all my expenses paid (air fair + hotel + transportation + PRP + after treatment care). Also, another hair doctor told me that instead of paying $5000 for one PRP + ECM treatment. It would have been more beneficial if I did 10 session of PRP only at $500 per session. Anyways, I already made my mind. I can't argue with my friends anymore. They are so confident now and I hide under this freaking hat. I can't take it anymore.
