It is not uncommon for Dr. Schlechter to continue to provide follow-up care for up to a year after a patient’s procedure. Dr. Schlechter was inspired to pursue a career in plastic surgery for Reading and Lancaster, PA residents by area plastic surgeon Dr. Sergio Proserpi, the original founder of the practice. Even as a child, Dr. Schlechter knew that plastic surgery was his calling, and he has dedicated his life to excellence in this field. He graduated from the prestigious University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a highly sought-after residency in General Surgery at Case Western Reserve University and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He then returned to Chicago to complete his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois-Chicago and Cook County Hospital. He was chief resident in both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies. His five years of general surgery training go above and beyond what is required for a plastic surgeon and demonstrate his commitment to exemplary care.
