Dr. James Knoetgen is a Board Certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in cosmetic surgery of the breasts and body. Dr Knoetgen provides his patients at Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics with the personal, individualized care and attention they deserve. He takes the time to get to know each of his patients so he can better help them achieve their cosmetic goals. Education and Training

‍Dr. James Knoetgen completed his general surgery residency training at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital at Columbia University in New York City. After his training, he was chosen to complete plastic surgery residency training at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, which is consistently ranked among the top three medical institutions in the world.

‍Following his residency, Dr. Knoetgen was asked to stay at the Mayo Clinic as a staff plastic surgeon and professor of plastic surgery for seven years. During that time, he performed a wide variety of plastic surgery procedures, focusing mostly on aesthetic procedures for the breasts and body.

‍It was at the Mayo Clinic that Dr. Knoetgen met Dr. Darshan Shah, the founder of Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics. Dr. Knoetgen relocated to California to once again work with Dr. Shah.

‍Because of his extensive training and experience, Dr. Knoetgen's expertise in cosmetic surgery has been sought by various national and international media publications and outlets, including Vogue. He has also published many articles and textbook chapters on cosmetic procedures and has presented his work at numerous international plastic surgery meetings. Dr Knoetgen is a member of the two most prestigious plastic surgery societies, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr Knoetgen is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
