He attended Columbia University and later graduated as president of the medical honor society at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. He trained at Yale University in head and neck surgery and was consistently recognized as the top head and neck surgeon in the program. Dr. Marotta then completed additional sub-specialty training as a fellow in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery at one of the leading facial plastic fellowships in the country. Board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Marotta specializes in facial plastic surgery with particular expertise and interest in minimally invasive (endoscopic) facial plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation (surgical and non-surgical) and rhinoplasty.
In addition to his plastic surgery experience, Dr. Marotta is also a top hair restoration surgeon offering the most advanced hair restoration and transplantation techniques available at Marotta Hair Restoration, a division of Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists. Hair transplantation can restore natural hair to the hairline, top of the head or crown. Dr. Marotta performs hair replacement procedures with NeoGraft and Follicular Unit Transplantation, achieving the most natural results for his patients by transplanting one hair follicle at a time, as opposed to two or three. This eliminates the possibility of a “clumped” appearance, instead creating a desirable, natural look.
In addition to his clinical practice, also holds hospital privileges at St. Catherine of Siena in Smithtown and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Marotta has achieved a medical doctorate with distinction in research and has published several scientific articles, including articles on revision rhinoplasty and the midface lift. He continues to conduct research and write medical manuscripts. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
