Dr. Michael Thornton is a double board certified cosmetic surgeon and Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS), which is the only written and oral American certifying board that tests patient safety, general knowledge, and surgical experience exclusively in the field of Cosmetic Surgery.  Dr Thornton currently serves as an examiner for the ABCS Oral Boards and a past member of the ABCS Board of Trustees.  In addition, he remains board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care / Trauma Surgery.

Because of Dr. Michael Thornton’s surgical dedication, he has been bestowed two esteemed honors as both Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and Fellow in the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (FAACS).  In addition, he has 20-years of combined surgical training and operative experience and has been named “Top Doc” in Fort Worth, Texas Magazine in the specialty of Cosmetic Surgery.  Dr. Thornton has gained a reputation for performing revision cosmetic surgery including difficult breast revision surgery, abdominoplasty revision and liposuction revision and is happy to provide a complimentary consultation to better assist your needs.  Dr. Thornton is consistently named “SuperDoc” in addition to being selected as Reader’s Choice “Best Cosmetic Surgeon”  in Living Magazine Arlington & Mansfield.

Dr. Michael Thornton has served as both past Chief of the General Surgery Section and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.  Dr. Thornton enjoys spending personal time with his two children and wife, Raquel.  His interests include leisure traveling, website programming and development, playing piano, and supporting the Baylor University football program. Dr Thornton is amazing! I'm a 72 year old woman that saw Dr Thornton last year for a consultation regarding liposuction on my lower jowls and after visiting with him, I found Dr Thornton to be very caring and he made me feel at ease with explaining the procedure. He suggested that I would be happier going with a lower face lift and lipo to remove the excess fat from my jowls. I had my surgery in April of 2019 and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! Dr Thornton is a terrific doctor that has and outstanding ability to communicate and understands the importance of your concerns. Dr Thornton and his staff were so wonderful, he has such a caring heart and really cares about his patients!

Dr. Thornton has awesome bedside manner, he's professional, and I felt very comfortable expressing my expectations to him about my Liposuction & BBL procedures... he totally understood my vision and DELIVERED!!!!... I am extremely happy and I absolutely recommend him. His staff is helpful, professional, & very kind.... and oh yes!!! the Surgery Center's staff where he practices in Mansfield were extraordinary.... I just can't say enough great things about the nurses, they get the meaning of nursing.

I had initially went to consult about a tummy tuck and went ahead and took a step further with breast augmentation. I have to say I was very skeptical as this was my first ever consultation with a cosmetic surgeon and didn’t know what to really expect. After meeting Dr. Thornton, I felt that he was the right guy for the job! It’s been about 3 1/2 months since my mommy makeover and I LOVE the results! I definitely have more confidence than ever before. My husband definitely loves the outcome as well! I totally recommend Dr. Thornton for your cosmetic needs!! Thank you Dr. Thornton!!!
