Monica Kieu, D.O., FACS is a board-certified specialist in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. She helps her patients improve their health, and their appearance, with exceptional skill and compassion.

A native of Southern California, Dr. Kieu received her medical degree, with honors, from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Michigan State University/Detroit Medical Center, where she was chief resident. In addition, she completed a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. She has authored numerous papers and presentations for peer-reviewed medical journals and conferences.

The daughter of an anesthesiologist and a pediatrician, Dr. Kieu is a skilled practitioner with a broad range of academic and clinical interests in facial aesthetics. She is also a committed humanitarian-physician, having performed facial reconstructive and head and neck procedures in underserved provinces of Vietnam and Malawi. In her many medical missions, she performs cleft lip and palate correctional surgeries, which restore appearance, dignity, and function to her patients.

Dr Kieu and Courtney are the best! I am an Asian male and I have been doing research on rhinoplasty surgeons for a long time in the whole country! I’m so glad that I found dr Kieu and her office. She was able to understand my aesthetics right away without me having to explain much. She was also thorough and honest throughout the process, explaining what and what is not realistic to achieve. The highlight of the experience was how responsive they are for any post op questions. I had a congested nose and I was so worried that something might’ve gone wrong during the surgery. Even though it might just be overreaction, Dr Kieu still managed to see me in her office days after the surgery and reassured me with facts and some nasal spray to make my breathing better. Now I’m almost one month post op and I never felt this level of confidence in my life! Would highly recommend Dr Kieu for rhinoplasty or basically any cosmetic procedures.

I was looking into some small procedures for my droopy eyelids and pesky mole/scar on my face. I wanted it to look natural and not change my face noticeably. Dr Kieu was professional and approachable. She helped address my concerns and suggested different approaches in lieu of what I originally thought I needed. Ultimately, it saved me money and it turned out more "natural looking"! I was so pleasantly surprised. I really appreciate that she did not try to recommend a more expensive (and potentially unnecessary) procedure. She has wonderful bedside manner and was very relatable. She really listened and knew what I needed. 10/10 recommend!

Dr. Monica Kieu is an outstanding doctor. She and her whole team made me feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. She has integrity and it shows in her work, she is always focused on the natural look and highlighting everyone's beauty. Newport Surgery Center was also amazing during the procedure.
