Niven TienDr

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Tien received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1999. He then enriched his interest in biochemical engineering research and received a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2000, before pursuing a career in dentistry. He received his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2005, graduating in the top third of his class.

Dr. Tien completed his training in a 6-year oral and maxillofacial surgery program at New York University Medical Center, which included Bellevue Hospital Center and the VA Manhattan Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed one year of general surgery, where he was exposed to the fields of vascular, cardiothoracic, general and plastic surgery, internal medicine and the surgical intensive care unit.
