Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Rebecca Garza blends her meticulous surgical technique with a compassionate approach to patient care. She has trained at some of the nation’s most prestigious hospitals and helped teach the next generation of plastic surgeons. 

As a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Garza brings a unique understanding of women’s bodies and life changes to her practice. Her extensive experience performing complex breast reconstruction procedures engendered a sensitive, empathetic approach and precise attention to detail that shows in her remarkable cosmetic surgery results. 

When Dr. Garza consults with patients considering cosmetic plastic surgery at our Schererville, Indiana, practice, she helps them feel comfortable and relaxed while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. As a woman and mother, she understands the reasons women (and men) consider aesthetic surgery, and customizes her approach based on their specific goals. 

Dr. Garza’s impressive credentials include an undergraduate degree from Stanford University in human biology. She returned to the Midwest to earn her medical degree from the University of Illinois, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, an elite national medical honor society that recognizes academic distinction. 

She was accepted into Stanford University’s plastic surgery residency program, one of the most prestigious training programs in the country. Following her residency, Dr. Garza went on to complete additional microsurgery fellowship training at the University of Chicago. She accepted an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Chicago in 2017.
