Dr. Umang Mehta is a double board-certified, Beverly Hills-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area. He specializes primarily in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, with nearly two decades of experience in both cosmetic and functional nasal surgery. We are delighted to welcome patients from around the globe to our Atherton office. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Mehta is also a Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also clinical faculty of an AAFPRS fellowship in Los Altos and Palo Alto, CA. These appointments provide unique opportunities to teach facial plastic surgery to fellows, residents, medical students, and pre-med students. He is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABOTO).

A native of Southern California, Dr. Mehta graduated with honors from Stanford University with a degree in Biological Sciences. He attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he was bestowed the Zollinger award as the most outstanding student in surgery. Dr. Mehta was subsequently accepted into a prestigious residency program in Head and Neck Surgery at Saint Louis University. He consistently scored among the top residents nationwide in the facial plastic and reconstructive surgery section of the in-service examinations. Dr. Mehta has been invited to present his research at several national meetings and has published in many medical journals. 

After residency, Dr, Mehta was among a very select group of physicians accepted into an AAFPRS fellowship. During this time, he trained intensively in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery at The Lasky Clinic in Beverly Hills, learning from many world-class surgeons in the field. During this final year of training, he was an instructor in facial plastic surgery at both The University of Southern California and Saint Louis University, teaching head and neck surgery residents as well as medical students.
