Profile

I went into medicine to be like my grandfather, Dr. Valentinas Plioplys, a cardiologist in Lithuania who fled to America during the second world war. What I remember most clearly about my grandfather were his hands. When you held his hand, he held you, with love, respect, and understanding. That warmth still fills me when I hold his hands. Now, I hold them in my heart.

Although I had every intention of becoming a general practice doctor, my talent was in surgery. Here was a way to marry knowledge and hands to change lives. I fell in love with plastic surgery on a trip to Puerto Rico, where I had the chance to be part of a team providing ear reconstructions to children born without ears. I never looked back.

After completing medical school in Chicago, and plastic surgery training in Seattle, I was drawn to Great Falls Montana for the opportunity to serve good people suffering with a wide variety of problems. Our office treats conditions ranging in severity from cancer to that little wrinkle on your forehead. I always remember that every problem is serious when it is your own. My goal is to make peoples’ lives better in big ways and small. I want to get to know you, your life, and share some part of your humanity. My greatest honor, and responsibility, is the trust placed in my hands.

Dr. Ploplys changed my life in a great way. She has continued to be open to my thoughts and questions. When I see her she is thorough and considerate. She has always been available for communication and her staff have been stellar. She has been nothing but a great surgeon for me and I am grateful for her hard work.

I canceled my initial consultation. I was told I would receive the deposit of $200.00 in a refund. That never happened. Leslee Weber

Dr. Ploylplys is amazing. She TRULY cares for her patients and personally calls them at night after procedures to check on them…..have never had this before. Her office staff is always willing to help in any way they can and are friendly and caring. Can’t say enough good things about this office and physician. Great Falls is lucky to have her.

PLEASE DON'T GO TO HER. Let me start by saying that she is a surface level nice person but after my experience with her and reading other people's experiences this is the last place you want to go. I went to Dr.Ploplys in 2017 for a breast reduction. I had waited almost 9 months to see her for a consult so when she told me we could perform the surgery in only a few months I was very excited. I had the surgery in May and was initially happy but after a year I noticed that the results were not very good. The stitching looked sloppy and uneven which she warned me was possible so I scheduled a scar revision in May of 2020. It was an in house revision with local anesthesia. The procedure took less than an hour and looking back at it now it was very weird that she wasn't wearing gloves. Maybe it was the nerves of getting cut open or the trust I had put in her as my doctor but I didn't say anything. She finished me up and put surgical tape over the stitched but no gauze. She told me to put my regular bra on which I found very odd since the first time around I was bandaged up and had no exposure to anything that could possibly infect me. Fast forward to later that night I was in so much pain. I knew that I would experience some discomfort since I was just cut open but nothing was helping. I went in later the that week to have it looked at. It was very red and oozing so a culture was taken. She sent me home with an antibiotic and told me she would inform me of the results. I came back in a few days later to have it looked at again and after asking what the results were she very passively told me it was a Staph Aureus infection... I was shocked because when I asked her how this could have happened she said most likely a contaminated instrument and that was it. No emotion, no remorse. Just a very insensitive explanation. She told me my only option was to let the infected tissue heal on its own. TMI but the infection had split my stitches very wide and I could see breast tissue very clearly. Eventually it healed up and it took about a month and a half before the wound left by the infection closed up. TLDR; Got a staph infection that ruined my breasts. Doctor was very insensitive and dismissive. 0/10 would not recommend.

Dr ploplys is a nice person and a capable dr by my account. I had a small outpatient procedure in fall 22, but this was not the initial reason to go see her. The primary reason for visiting were never met. my appointment was postponed for more than several months and just 1 hour before my scheduled appointment (at this point, now more than 11 months beyond initial consultation) I received a call asking to yet again postpone the appointment because the Dr would be in surgery all morning. After agreeing to a several hour delay I then received a phone call that my trickle referral is now expired and that I should "just get it renewed"- yeah, in two hours? Sorry but there's no chance I would give yet another chance to this office.
