Profile

As a former full time Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of California Irvine in Orange County for almost 3 years, I taught the next generation of plastic surgeons as the Assistant Director of the Plastic Surgery residency program. I also served as Co-Director of Hand Surgery for the Department of Plastic Surgery. In addition, at the VA Hospital in Long Beach, I provide upper extremity restoration reconstructive surgery options for spinal cord injury patients as a part of a multidisciplinary team. I also spearheaded an educational course for trainees across southern California to teach the safe and effective use of fillers and neurotoxins such as Botox in facial rejuvenation. Meanwhile, I am excited to provide reconstructive breast surgery for patients after mastectomy or lumpectomy, including oncoplastic options, primarily at Hoag Hospital in Irvine and Newport Beach, and at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

When my husband was diagnosed with cancer on his face earlier this summer, our first goal was to take care of the cancer through surgery with our dermatologist. Once that happened, we were concerned about the large scar that he would have on his face. We didn't even consider plastic surgery but our dermatologist, Dr. Tanya Nino recommended Dr. Wendy Ng to us for reconstructive plastic surgery. For starters, both Dr. Ng's office and the surgery center she uses were less than a mile from our home which made it incredibly convenient. From the get go, she was nothing but kind and generous with her time and information. Our first appointment was via video conference and she walked us through the entire process step by step and answered all the questions we had. Not only was she super professional and knowledgeable and experienced (don't let her youthful look fool you into thinking she's green), but also she was warm and patient. I've never had a doctor be so available for calls and emails before, which was so refreshing! The entire process was seamless and in the end she did a phenomenal job with the stitching so we're hopeful that the scar will be minimal in the end. She even called me with an update and emailed me a photo of the final stitching while my husband was still coming out of anesthesia! I would highly recommend Dr. Ng to anyone looking for a facial plastic surgeon. She truly stands out from others in her profession. Thanks, Dr. Ng for helping put my husband back together again after his cancer diagnosis!

Due to a strange bar-b-que fork accident, I found myself in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange on a Monday. The small puncture wound on my hand had become swollen over the weekend. Dr. Ng fit me into her schedule quickly and performed surgery on the web between my thumb and forefinger to clean out the infection. Dr. Ng checked on me the next morning and I was released. Dr. Ng personally stayed in touch with me on the phone and with email (I sent her pictures each week) to check on my progress. In four and a half weeks the incision has completely healed, and except for a dark spot that was the original puncture, it’s like nothing happened at all. I was lucky to have Dr. Ng as my surgeon in the emergency room. I would highly recommend Dr. Ng to anyone that is planning to have surgery. Thank you Dr. Ng!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Ng. The whole process from the initial visit, to the surgery, to the follow up, she was attentive and always was willing to explain. She explained everything that was going to happen so there were no surprises. In addition, the surgery crew at St. Joseph's Hospital was wonderful - top notch. The entire process was a great experience thanks to Dr. Ng, her staff, and the surgery team at St. Joseph's Hospital.

We came to Dr. Ng after a year of observations of a nevus that was planned to be removed from my son's arm. Dr. Ng professional observation confirmed our suspicious and we immediately starting coordinating a surgery to remove the bad cells from my 2-year old son's right arm. Dr. Ng was extremely professional, treated respectfully, following up multiple times after the survey and overall provided an amazing experience to a situation that was inherently difficult for us to go though. I believe that without Dr. Ng's persistence and professionalism we would not have accomplished similar results. The surgery itself went very smoothly, and although the nevus was pretty large and covered a substantial part of my son's right arm, the scan is minor and the healing process went smoothly. Overall, Dr. Ng's proactive approach. spot on diagnosis and surgical phenomenal skills lead us to this amazing result. I will be forever grateful that I chose to follow Dr. Ng's advise and services.

Dr. Ng is great!! She took care of both me and my husband. She saw my husband for a possibly torn ligament of his right thumb and even though she’s a surgeon she did not suggested surgery right away. She really tried and suggested different options to make his thumb better. Eventually, he ended up getting surgery and we’re very happy with the results. With me, I saw her for my carpal and ulnar tunnel which has gotten severe throughout the years. The surgery went very well and I’m very happy with the way the scar looks (I think it’s because she is a plastic surgeon as well). I’m still recovering but so far everything seems going well. Thank you, Dr. Ng for taking good care of us! Oh, and not to forget her office staff.... they’re really great!!! Very friendly and helpful which is very hard to come by nowadays.
