Profile

Michael Streitmann, MD is dually board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery). He completed a residency in ENT at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. His training included plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck, which led to an interest in plastic surgery of the entire body. Dr. Streitmann then completed a second residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma, which included extensive cosmetic surgery training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Being dual board certified, Dr. Streitmann performs cosmetic surgery of the entire body, but has a special interest in rhinoplasty, including revision surgery and breathing issues.

Dr. Streitmann grew up in the Houston area and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology, graduated Summa Cum Laude et Ampla in three years, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and while there, developed a love of the Texas Hill Country. He and his wife Tricia have a ranch near Harper, Texas, where they have a fourteen-acre vineyard. They have 5 adult children scattered between Houston and the Hill Country.

Dr. Streitmann performs primary and revision surgery of the face, breast, and body, including procedures following massive weight loss. He also performs excision of skin cancers as well as complex reconstructions of the resultant defects. Dr. Streitmann and his staff value honesty above all else. Not every patient needs surgery – sometimes non-invasive treatments are more effective, and some patients are not surgical candidates. If surgery is the right option, it will be completely explained to your satisfaction, performed in a compassionate environment, and post-operative care will never be rushed or hurried. Dr. Streitmann believes that the best compliment a surgeon can receive is when a patient refers a friend or family member.

Westlake Derm in downtown Austin with Dr LaCour and his team of MAs is the only place I trust with my derm needs both medical and cosmetic. Dr. LaCour stands out to me for his exceptional attention to detail; he takes the time to listen and understand the full context of my concerns, both medical and cosmetic. His meticulous and careful approach ensures the best possible care and natural-looking results. His whole team of MA has been exceptional particularly MA Donna is warm, professional, and supportive throughout the process as well. The downtown location is convenient, and the entire clinic makes you feel valued and confident. Top-notch experience that I recommend to everyone in my downtown network!

I had such a great experience as soon as I walked through the door. The costumer service was amazing. Sitting in a doctors office can be so uncomfortable but Dr. Helyn Alvarez and her assistant were both so welcoming. Thank you

I had a small procedure done here and was charged $600, which already felt very expensive for the service provided. About a month later, I received additional bills for fees that were never mentioned to me beforehand. I wish there had been more transparency around pricing. If you choose to come here, make sure to ask very detailed questions about total costs and potential additional charges.

Dr Rhodes is the best doctor I've ever worked with. Always positive and a treat to visit. Strongly recommend Westlake Dermatology.

I went to Dr. Lacour for a routine mole check in August. During the visit, he said a mole was likely severe and pressured me into having it removed immediately, warning that I would probably need surgically remove the area later. After the procedure, I was given little guidance on aftercare and felt dismissed when I tried to ask questions. He pretty much left the room immediately. Five months later, the area still hasn’t healed. At follow-up, the only solution offered was surgery, with no real discussion of alternatives. A second opinion advised the opposite approach of what Dr. Lacour had recommended. Based on my experience, I would not recommend seeing Dr. Lacour if it can be avoided.

Dr. Matthew LaCour is one of the best medical professionals I’ve ever worked with. He’s patient, professional, incredibly communicative, and has successfully resolved several complex dermatology issues for me. I recommend him 100%.
