Dr. Vande Ven completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Colorado State University and continued on to complete her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University School of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Vande Ven started her General Surgery Residency at Lutheran Medical Center and finished her Residency at Palisades Medical Center where she was the Chief Resident in PGY4 and PGY5.
Dr. Vande Ven completed a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at Hamilton Surgical Arts in Indiana. Dr. Vande Ven also completed a Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center where she was instrumental in helping the program be the first D.O. Plastic Surgery program in the nation to obtain ACGME accreditation.
Dr. Vande Ven is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Heather Vande Ven is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Specializing in procedures of the breast and body at our Bakersfield location.
